Task

After many successful campaigns together, Citrix came to Tonic to generate appointments for the Citrix Sales Team for Citrix XenDesktop - a solution that can deliver every type of virtual desktop to anyplace and anywhere. With a time poor C-level target audience this campaign had to cut through to reach these IT decision makers.

Strategy

Switching to XenDeskop is all about trading in old technology for new technology, so we decided not simply to tell but to show through a high-impact two-pronged DM campaign.

This campaign was so successful it has been rolled out in China and India.

We hand delivered sextants (think 17th century seafaring navigation) in wooden boxes to 30 top decision makers with a personalised letter encouraging them to set up a meeting.

If they agreed to a meeting, the Citrix sales rep would update their sextant with a brand new Garmin Nuvi 3700 GPS.
